Mission
Vision
Onnu Biochar launched in 2024, as part of the wider Onnu brand. The team have been consulting on and developing pyrolysis projects since 2022, with the aim to grow the biochar market in the UK.
Our mission is to drive the Net Zero transition by harnessing biochar technology. We will build a pyrolysis-based industry that transforms waste biomass into clean energy, removes carbon, manufactures biochar, and supports sustainable local economies through scalable, eco-friendly solutions.
By delivering commercially viable pyrolysis projects, and creating a vibrant biochar market in the UK, we have the conditions for this remarkable technology to flourish, delivering carbon removals at unprecedented scale.

Biochar is made using a process called pyrolysis, and aside from the environmental benefits biochar delivers, it is a method of removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
Onnu's Green Hubs in Herefordshire, UK, will deliver all the benefits of biomass pyrolysis, whilst also addressing the acute ecological challenges faced by the region from poultry litter run-off polluting the River Wye.

Since 2022, Onnu has built a team of professionals focused on the scientific, operational and commercial project development to build and run our own pyrolysis plants, resulting in the roll-out of our upcoming Green Hub series.

Onnu Bioflow aims to develop a circular economy towards a sustainable future through renewable commodities. We sell in volume to industries such as steel making and power generation.
Trading internationally, Onnu Bioflow produces and sells biochar, black pellets and bio-carbon.
