Multi-purpose Biochar Compost Mix

• Nutrient Retention – The biochar component holds nutrients within the soil, gradually releasing them to plants and reducing nutrient loss through leaching.

Pots, Containers & Hanging Baskets: Select a container with drainage holes to prevent water logging. Add a layer of grit at the bottom for better drainage, then fill with Multi-Purpose Biochar Compost mix. Plant your chosen plants, then water thoroughly to settle the compost around the roots. The biochar will help retain moisture, reducing the need for frequent watering. 

Beds & Borders: Dig a hole twice the size of the plant’s root ball and partially fill with the compost mix. Place the plant in the hole, backfill with more compost, and gently compact around the base to secure it. Water well after planting to ensure roots are surrounded with moisture and nutrients. 

Seedlings / Pricking Out: Once seedlings are large enough, carefully lift each by its leaves and gently loosen the roots from the soil. Replant them well-spaced in the compost mix to allow room for growth and access to nutrients. 

Watering: Biochar and coir naturally retain water, so reduce watering frequency. Allow the soil to dry slightly between waterings to avoid overwatering and ensure plants have balanced moisture levels.
